本器可迅速且精密的將各種織物、編織品、地毯、發泡、薄膜、紙張等等，切割成一個特定面積之圓形樣品，亦稱為「織物取樣器」。
樣品面積若為100cm²，稱重(搭配碼重秤)後將所得的公克數乘以100，即可得出該材料每平方米之公克數。
切割時把材料置於切刀及專用墊板之間，鬆開安全釦後輕壓並旋轉手輪，即可切下邊緣完整的樣品。

The material to be cut is placed under the cutter between the rubber plate and the cutter.
While holding the cutter with one hand, apply pressure to the handle and rotate by at least 90 degrees.
